Dry Needling
Dry Needling is a western medicine technique using acupuncture needles. The needles are applied to dysfunctional soft tissue known as trigger points to ease pain and spasm and promote healing.
Dry needling is not used routinely with every patient, but is an option in appropriate cases.
Physiotherapists performing these techniques have undergone training and require ongoing professional development to continue this form of treatment. Prior to performing dry needling your physiotherapist will discuss the procedure with you and obtain your consent.
